Opportunities and lessons learnt in battery manufacturing scale-up

21 March 2024 10:30 - 11:10

By 2040, it is forecasted that there will be demand for around 200GWh of battery production in the UK. Presently, we are some way off that target. This presentation from UKBIC will focus on the opportunities available in battery manufacturing. It will discuss what lessons we have learnt during the construction of the Government funded facility, what lessons we have learnt during scaleup of customer product, and what we, as a key part of the Faraday Battery Challenge, the UK Government’s programme to fast track the development of cost-effective, high-performance, durable, safe, low-weight and recyclable batteries, can do to help the sector.

5 THINGS YOU WILL LEARN DURING THIS SESSION:

1. By 2040, it is forecasted that there will be demand for around 200GWh of battery production in the UK.
2. What opportunities there are for companies involved in UK battery manufacturing
3. What lessons UKBIC has learnt during construction of its own gigascale facility
4. What lessons UKBIC has learnt during scaleup of customer product
5. What UKBIC can do to help
