Make Measurement Matter exhibitor helps turn the tide

Make Measurement Matter Exhibitor Apex Metrology has helped a leading manufacturer of high precision sub-sea components get the measure of its latest equipment by using advanced CMM 5-Axis probing technology installed at its Edinburgh facility.

By offering its customer the use of its latest advances in measurement technology, (including infinite head movement, long probe reach and high-speed scanning), Apex were able to complete the measurement of major sub-sea components that the manufacturer themselves did not have the in-house capability to complete. Previously, the customer had taken around 6 weeks to collate all the necessary measurements themselves on similar components, but by working with Apex it was discovered that the entire process, from beginning up to the provision of complete data, now takes just 6 days.

This project, together with the many facilities offered by Apex Metrology (including Dimensional Testing & Measurement, CMM Programming, Validation & Training & the supply, service & calibration of CMM equipment with relevant software), can be discussed on the Apex Metrology stand at the forthcoming Make Measurement Matter event on March 12th.

Organised in association with the GTMA, entry to Make Measurement Matter is free of charge by pre-registration. The show takes place at the acclaimed British Motor Museum on 12th March next year: the venue is located adjacent to the Aston Martin and JLR plants south of Warwick and just 1 minute from the M40. There is abundant free parking, and for visitors arriving before 1030, a free bacon roll and brew too. Tea and coffee is provided free of charge all day at the event, and pre-registered exhibition visitors can also visit the superb British Motor Museum, with almost 300 fascinating cars on show, free of charge too (standard adult entry fee otherwise is £14.50).
